SOMBER SLATY AFRICAN LADY
Somber slaty African lady
Take a pew upon the island
Of this feeble-like but willing
Soul of mine
My love is full and with you
Alone will share.
Somber slaty African lady
You are as beautiful as the little
Berries of the field
Words as sonorous as of the nightingale you speak
Your voice echoes within like the slight sparkle
Of lightening after the rain
Searching the core ambience of my fading soul.
Somber slaty African lady
Mother Nature has thrown a hissy fit
Because I said to her
“None of your offspring is as pretty
As my lady”
Your beauty is purer than the
Purest of golds.
Somber slaty African lady
Stay a little while longer
And a day more
Until an unending forever
I’m loving each day
As it passes by
Only because you are here.
Somber slaty African lady
I’ve laid a wreath by the hill side
There we can spend each autumn’s night
Savouring the warmness that comes
From me to you
Lend me a hand for the morrow to come
And I will make you a woman of worth.
Somber slaty African lady
Stay a little while longer
And a day more
Until an unending forever.
